FitCoach Terms of Service

Effective date / last updated: 2026-08-21

Short and in plain language. By connecting or using FitCoach you agree to these terms.

1. The service

FitCoach is a fitness coaching service you use through an AI assistant (Claude or ChatGPT). It stores your training profile, goals, and workout logs, and generates versioned weekly training plans adapted to what you log.

What FitCoach is, plainly: a free experiment run by one person, not a company and not a funded product. It is not a paid subscription, there is no revenue behind it, and there is no team on call. That shapes what you should reasonably expect, so it is written here rather than left for you to discover:

None of this reduces the commitments made elsewhere in these terms and in the privacy policy: reading, exporting and deleting your own data stay free and available, your data is never sold, and deletion is immediate and real.

2. Acceptable use

Use FitCoach for your own training. Don't attempt to access other users' data, probe or disrupt the service, reverse-engineer it beyond what the law permits, resell it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may rate-limit or suspend accounts that abuse the service.

3. Trial and subscription

FitCoach is free. Nothing is charged, no payment provider is connected, we hold no card details, and no feature is locked.

There is no current plan to charge for it. If paid plans are ever introduced, people already using FitCoach will be given advance notice before anything changes for them, and no one will be charged without agreeing to it first.

Whatever happens to pricing, these stay free: viewing your training data, exporting all of it, and deleting your account. Those are not conditional on a subscription and never will be.

4. Refunds

There is nothing to refund: no charge of any kind is made, and no payment provider is connected to FitCoach at all.

If paid plans are ever introduced, these are the terms we commit to in advance:

Nothing here limits refund or cancellation rights you have under the law where you live.

5. Not medical advice

FitCoach is not a medical service and its output is not medical advice. Exercise carries inherent risk, including risk of injury. Consult a physician before beginning any training program, especially if you have a medical condition or prior injury. Stop exercising and seek medical attention if you experience pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or other concerning symptoms. You are responsible for training within your own limits.

FitCoach screens what you write for a fixed list of red-flag phrasings and tells you to stop and seek help when one matches. It is a keyword check, not monitoring, assessment, or triage — it misses things, and its silence is never a sign that you are fine. In the product's own words: FitCoach is a training tool, not medical care — stop and get checked out if anything feels wrong.

6. Your data

Your training data is yours. You can export all of it, and delete all of it, yourself at any time — say "delete my account" to your assistant and confirm with the exact phrase it gives you. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. How we collect, store, and delete your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

FitCoach is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that plans will achieve any particular result, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FitCoach and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for personal injury arising from your training decisions. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or, if you have paid nothing, to zero. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Termination

You can stop using FitCoach at any time, and you can delete your account yourself whenever you want (see section 6 and the Privacy Policy). Because deletion runs immediately, export your data before you confirm it — there is no window afterwards in which it still exists. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable and a reasonable chance to export your data first, unless an ongoing abuse or the law makes that impossible.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the courts located in New York.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date above will change, and a material change — including anything about pricing or refunds — is announced at the top of this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use FitCoach after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
